Smith Mountain Morning -all done!

Well...all done but the quilting. I am in awe of how easily this went together.
Bonnie Hunter's patterns all seem to have lots of pieces. Yet, they all fit together flawlessly!
Here it is on my familyroom floor:
And here it is on my queen size bed.
Those rust fabrics still scream out at me but they are like a cheery on a sundae per one of my commentors.
So true...
And I am still working on a mystery quilt from Quilt World on Facebook. I decided that since I unearthed all those batiks that I need to use them. It is rainy and cool here in Indiana. A perfect day for sewing. A better day for hand quilting but Pearl has taken over the recliner for now.
I threw them all up on the design wall. What a difference from what was on there all last week. I bounce between styles of quilts. I like them all!!!!!
Not sewn yet and I still have more blocks to make. My OCD of "matchie-matchie" is terribly challenged with this quilt. I just have to pick up a random HST and use it. Only rule is none of the same fabrics in a block. So far it has worked for me.

Both quilts are beautiful! I truly love that blue and brown. I love Bonnie's stuff but I don't have her books yet, which book is that from?

Smith Mountain Morning is gorgeous--even with the rust color!
When I was first introduced to batiks I wasn't drawn to them. Now I love them. This quilt is beautiful--I understand the matching temptation. I deal with that in scrap quilts, too. You seem to be doing well--the outcome looks great!

Both quilts are terrific. You did a great job. Random piecing is hard for me too. They say to put it all in a bag, but then I go through the bag looking for the right color. Maybe there's a cure for that??

I love your quilt! I'm with you about the matchie stuff. The Blue Ridge Beauty I'm working on is the first one that I actually used scraps for. Happy Quilting!

Subee,
Your quilts are just beautiful ! I enjoy Bonnie Hunter's style of quilts, also.

SMM is wonderful! I know what you mean by having to 'accept' the colorway--but it really is most effective. And your new scrappy project is looking good!

I know this post is over a year old, but I came across it while googling Bonnie quilt images, and I noticed in the top picture there were two blocks turned the wrong way. Did you finish quilting this one? Probably, because you are a speedster when it comes to sewing.
