Orca Bay Mystery Clue #5 progress

I am very happy with my decision to limit my outer triangles to more of a tone on tone black. It seems to frame the unit nicely.

And of course the OCD Me, is controlling how many of which ones I am using on each set of HST which are all sorted by their own combinations. I am pointing the non-dogear end towards the middle so I can have sets with each fabric playing along on the left and the right side of the units.

I have half of these sewn already.
And panic time. I had made a large purchase last March towards Christmas presents for this year. Fast forward to Hubby's surgery and my mind thinking I had MOST of my shopping already done.

I went through that box today and I NEED to go shopping tomorrow. I am not even 1/4 of the way done. I was sure misremembering what I had bought ahead of time.
I have never been this behind before even when I was working. Since I HATE to shop (except for fabric of course)  I had always broken it up into small segments and usually had my wrapping done before Thanksgiving.
Oh well...tomorrow I will shop 'til I drop!

One year, I forgot I had bought things for Xmas already, and didn't find them until March! :o) Have fun shopping!

I feel your pain. I used to always be finished shopping by Thanksgiving. This year I didn't get started until about a week ago and I still have much left to do. I'd much rather be sewing. How about you?

I think your brain was just letting you relax a bit.......you are pretty tough on yourself!

I'm in the same boat...gotta get a few things to put under the tree :0).
But I'm just lazy and indecisive and hate to shop...I know I have nothing for my DH or daughter to open :0).

Happy Sewing and Merry Christmas ( it still comes without the gifts)

I'm like you, the only thing I like to shop for is fabric! I don't envy you out in the crowds!

Good luck, hopefully everyone else will be working so you won't have too big of crowds to fight. I did most of my shopping yesterday, and it was a zoo everywhere I went.

1. Have insomnia.
2. Go shopping between midnight and 6am in stores that are open 24 hours (surprisingly there are quite a few).
3. Save your sanity by doing the above.

I'm piecing together my first scrap quilt (in 30 years of quilting, I can't believe that this is my first scrap quilt), and the OCD in me is panicked, when I look at the blocks of 25 2" squares and see "too many" of the same fabric in some of those blocks. The only thing saving me is the fact that I hate, hate, hate to rip. That and the knowledge that no one else will likely notice. Obviously THAT OCD-ness is why I've never done a scrap quilt before. ;-) Glad to know that I'm not the only OCD quilter out there. ha!
