Hot off the machine and ironing board...I added sashing all around. I think a gray border fabric and then will call it done.
I do not know if I will do the same effect to the second quilt. I really liked it all touching and not sashed. Will see tomorrow if I get the second one done.

It is very pretty, Sue! I personally really like what the black borders do for this. It causes the work to really stand out, where the unframed seems to keep it busy and scrappy. I love a good scrap quilt, but you have so much work in the design! You have every right to be proud and happy in this completion!
I agree, I think I really like the black sashing. I gives the eye a place to rest. Great job!!

With the sashings it looks more controlled, but I love the energy it develops without borders.
Your black and red version is really tempting me to knuckle under and make one for myself! I managed to resist while the mystery was going on, but I may yet succumb. Extremely nice job!
But it definitely saved time matching all the points along the way! Great job, I do hope the grandchildren appreciate all the time grandma put into their gifts!!!
