I have the crosshatch quilting all done and had a brainstorm to use my embroidery machine to add motifs in the open blocks. Unfortunately, after 30 some hoopings my wrists gave out. It was very hard to get the bulky quilt sandwich into the embroidery hoop. My right wrist is so swollen and sore I could not finish the job. After I heal I will start up again.
There are no repeats in the quilt of the embroidery motifs. And I am only on page #2 of the design disc. WOOOHOOO!
I will post pics when I am done with this quilt. This one is staying in my house. Hubby really likes the colors.

I too have been wanting to do this with my embroidery machine but I am so afraid of breaking the hoop. They are very expensive. I just bought a longer hoop and it cost me $150.00 without tax so I am kinda scared to try this.
Sorry your wrist gave out. What a good idea to use your embroidery machine for part of the quilting. I don't have an embroidery unit. I look forward to seeing your finished quilt.
I've also enjoyed using my embroidery machine for quilting certain blocks. But I haven't done as many as you have done, all at once.
Sorry to hear your wrists are in pain. Maybe a good manicure and/or hand massage would help. {hint, hint...time for some pampering}.
I can't wait to see your quilt when it is finished, but I do hope you'll wait for your wrists to heal.

We finally has to say to our Squirrels, "No more subsidies, no more bailouts, stay away, you need to find your own."
They had gotten so demanding, and were on the screen door, trying to get IN the house, chewing the door and frame, etc. OMGosh, they had turned into demanding monsters. You may want to rethink your generous gifts.
