I seem to be in a "funk" I cannot explain. I am getting lots of sewing done yet feel like being a hermit and not sharing. What is going on with me? I do not think I am depressed just withdrawn....but I still love you all!
I keep working with these scraps and more and more items are getting made! And I still have more scraps! I made a sample Log Cabin block before cutting into Gladys' fabric. We want Log Cabin blocks all around the border on her Deer Quilt. As a result I ended up making four blocks and they became place mats! WHOOHOOO!
I joined another swap of neutral 2 1/2" strips. This swap is connected to Bonnie Hunter's Yahoo group "Quiltvilleswap". I have swapped with them many times. I cut up and bagged these strips in record time. I will get them in the mail on Friday. It is so exciting to get the return packages back. I get so much variety in my scrappy fabrics swapping this way!I am the Hostess on the Yahoo group called "Postage Stamp Swap". We/I swap 1 1/2" squares of fabrics that we call Postage Stamps. I am hostessing neutral swaps and Everything But the Kitchen Sink" swaps on alternating months. This keeps me on my toes and on a first name basis with my Post Office workers!
And here they are just before I left for the Post Office. I love these pink crates. So girlie and yet so functional. And I just remembered I neglected to take a picture of my newest purchase for organization. I found a hot pink/purple 3 ring binder and spent the day punching holes in all of my Bonnie papers. I will have all her wonderful patterns and tricks in one great location! Pictures to follow.
I LOVE MY BREAD MACHINE!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Look at this perfect loaf. Yummy too!
Here is one of the 48 Log Cabin blocks I have made for the Deer Quilt. I added two small framing borders to the quilt today. Now I need to add more fabrics to the outsides to make them accept the Log Cabin blocks. I am thinking this quilt will be a BIG 112"X120"! Gladys said she wanted it BIG!

Silly me! I just replied to your comment and said something about not much blogging you must be sewing and from the looks of it you have indeed been busy! Did you see my post a few days ago with the table topper log cabin? I think you'll like it.
Wow. I think you've been too busy to sit at a computer! What kind of bread machine is that? Does it make a "regular" rectangular loaf?
When I don't read anything from you I always suspect how busy you are being. I truly feel, for myself, wanting to be left alone comes from too much holiday togetherness. I call it uncluttering my mind from all the information of family and friends. Spending most of the year alone with just husband and I we are very comfortable with our routine and glad to get back to it. Judy C www.shadetreequilting.com
You have certainly been very productive, even if you haven't been blogging as much and we all look forward to your posts and pictures. I saw one of the postage stamp quilts on the yahoo group and it was amazing.
I can understand being in a funk too, it's hard not to be in a funk with all this weather and snow we've gotten this winter.
Gail :)
Oh Sue - sorry to hear it, but you are in excellent company! ME also. Too much I want to do, can't keep up with everything, it's January, TAX preps - ugh, some family health issues, can't get enough 'git up and go'. Maybe it's just JANUARY! You've more than madeup for any 'down time' by your frequent posts and many quilts! You must need the break. 8-))) Be kind to yourself.
It is probably just this Indiana weather, I told my husband that the walls were starting to talk to me the other day...He took me shopping immediately! lol
Anyway, more sewing is not a bad thing, especially as lovely as your projects are.
I envy your productiveness. It has been warm here the last couple of days and I haven't been able to get myself inside to do any sewing. But it will be cooler soon and I will be forced to go back inside to do what I love to do. ;-)
Wow! You sure are one busy lady. And having a great deal of fun with your fabric. You are just focused on creativity right now. It takes time to keep a blog up and you'd rather create- I love that you enjoy all types of fabric and quilt patterns.
Wow! You are getting so much done!
Cheers,
Dionne
I know the feeling, I haven't done a thing on my blog in months, but I enjoy reading others. I look forward to yours, you are so productive. How do you get into a swap? I follow Bonnie on FB and I am just finishing RRCB. I have enjoyed the process.
