My self haircut 0r What was I thinking?????

 outside
inside

A few nights ago I had an issue with my below butt length hair. I decided that it would be really easy to braid up what I wanted cut off and the end result would be a free haircut.
Boy was I ever wrong.
I meant to remove 10" or so.
But...I removed 20+"!!!
That was having no glasses on and hanging my head upside down...middle of the night. What can I say? It was crooked and uneven and my straight across hair was now layered!!!! How did that happen I wonder?????
I can cut fabric straight but not hair!!!!
Tonight is my guild's last meeting with a catered dinner.
Well after another hair wash and using the dreaded hot rollers I am thinking my self haircut does not look so bad!!!
But boy am I gray!!!!!!

I think your hair looks wonderful. It's just not what you're used to - once you get used to it you will love it too.

Your hair is beautiful! Not a bad haircut at all! The gray is pretty. Mine went gray at about age 34 so I have been coloring all these years (50 something now). Some days I think about shaving my head and letting the gray take over. But I'm chicken to be bald. My hair is your length.

Me too, Subee, gray that is, and that is just fine! Your hair is gorgeous...sorry about the "cut above!"

Yes, but it's a lovely gray! And I think with all the body of the rollers, it looks wonderful! Very soft looking, too! Nice!

I always wanted to be a blonde but never colored my hair after the age of 16 or so. I have been gray since my late 20's. Now I am a platinum blonde!!!!!

Mine are short and thin and gray.
Many greetings Gitta

Your hair looks great! That's called "long layers" and is sexy, schmexy, as my hairdresser says! lol
Grey hair is cool. Remember Andy Warhol used to dye his hair grey when in his youth, to look more "spry".

My hair, as you know, is waist length when straight, but since I have curly hair, it doesn't look waist length. I started greying in my 30s and now I am "salt and pepper". I wish I had that silvery color of your pretty mane. With the curls your hair looks wonderful!

Subee, you are a super silver! Your hair looks so very clean and shiny and healthy. When I lost all my hair during my chemo, I looked so terrible. Now, 20 years later, it has all grown back and I'm almost all grey, too, but I love it!

Back in the day, I used to cut my own hair. I would gather it into a pony tail about 2" back from my forehead with the rubberband about 1.5" above my scalp and then cut it 1" beyond the rubberband. I ended up with the <a href="http://www.beautybombshells.com/wp-content/uploads/2010/06/farrahcolour.jpg>Farrah Fawcett </a>hairdo.

Your hair is beautiful! I've been "silvering" since 21, at at 46 had to write grey for the passport I just applied for. Enjoy the lighter-feeling head.

Your hair looks *amazing* - you can cut mine anytime :-) I admit - I *do* color mine...but I use a semi-permanent that fades away in 3 or 4 weeks. Your grey is glorious!

Nuthin' wrong with gray. I like it cut like that. The shorter length & layering gives it a little more bounce and it's still plenty long. I like it.

It is absolutely beautiful!

Well, it's very pretty SILVER, not gray - with shine, not dull or yellow - you are lucky for that. You probably needed courage to start!

Your hair is ~lovely~ I wish mine curled that well. Mine also has the "sparkles like little ponies" like my little girls say.

It look great, actually! And I love the color!
And if you're going to cut off 20 inches (!!!!) the beginning of summer would be the time.

Hahaha! Whoops!!! My hair is almost down to my behind...I keep saying I'm going to cut it (but I don't and haven't it several years). I trim my hair on my own all the time though, and it's easier to cut on your own when it's long. See how thrifty I am? Don't even go to the salon. ;) I think you're hair looks great and I agree with the other posters, it's a beautiful color! :)

Very beautiful hair!

I love your grey hair. I've even pinned it! As that is my goal!
now no more cutting your own hair ok - nice long grey hair is my vote - but is does look pretty and I wouldn't of known you had cut it.
Love Leanne

You have stunning silver hair. My boyfriend wants me to go natural and not color mine. If mine would look as gorgeous as yours, I would in a heartbeat. I just have a lot of grays popping out now. I get mine trimmed by my boyfriend who gives me a great haircut each time, so I don't have to worry about screwing it up myself.
