Lots of quilts designed by Bonnie Hunter, Pat Sloan and Edtya Sitar being sewn.

I am devoted to many quilt designers. Our Bonnie Hunter, Edtya Sitar and Pat Sloan.
Pat Sloan designed the block below. It is called Washington DC. I loved it so much that I made four of them and they then became this nice little lap quilt. My quilty friend, Victoria, is crazy for red. And her birthday is March 1st. She actually caught me sewing on it, oohed and awed over it and I lied and said it was for a grand daughter. Boy will she ever be surprised!
My heartfelt thanks go out to you Pat Sloan!!!!

And here is a small version of Bonnie Hunter's Scrappy Trips. She said anything goes and that is what I did. All this came from randomly selecting 2 1/2" strips and sewing them into tubes. I know I am wanting to make a more controlled version of this great quilt pattern. Thanks Bonnie Hunter!

And lastly here is my version Of Edtya Sitar's Egg Carton quilt. I made two of these beauties. But only one is quilted so far. And this one took 10 bobbins and four hard days of quilting. But it is all done now and so beautiful.

I found a neat picture on the internet showing a crocheted afghan in shades of green. I dug through my yarn collection and was able to closely match the colors she used.

Here is my stack of blocks. I had enough yarn to make 16 blocks. Now I need to join them while adding another row of black all around them.

And this is the yarn I have leftover. I wound it into patties that are then a pull skein. Love my yarn winder. Have had it for eons. It is made by Royal. It does make a loud clicking sound but it winds great! ( made that sound from day one) Also the kitties love to help me wind the yarn. I know you all understand.

And here is Grand daughter Anna Marie and my hubby James. This is her first guitar lesson. James bought her the guitar and set it up for her. She seems to be a natural. They did the second lesson last night. He is quite pleased with her progress. And her fingers hurt. That means she is playing and her fingers will get callouses and no longer hurt!

Hoping at least one of those links will work.

Bonnie's posting today was just what I needed. I finished up all my spool blocks. They are all in groups of ten and I ended with an even ten...serendipity!!! I now have 810 spool blocks.

WHOOHOOO!!!!

Our newest kitty member (#5)  has won over our hearts!!! Meet Lucky Lucy.

DH found her in the yard 3 weeks ago. Totally feral...untouchable even after a week of DH sitting outside with her, sweet talking and feeding her food. She bit and scratched him really bad one time. But we did not give up on her. There were (and still are) places on her back where all the fur is gone and is not growing back in. It almost looks as if a large jaw had hold of her. We have foxes and coyotes that visit from the river. Who knows what happened to her. It could also have been human meanness...I cannot fathom that fact. So I won't think about it.

On week two there was a large thunderstorm...our garage door was open and she simply walked in. So DH slowly shut that door and blocked the kitty door from the house. No drama...no nervous behavior. We continued to go out for another week and speak to her and give her food and water. She slowly began to trust us. Allowed touching then scratching and then cuddling ON THE GROUND ONLY.

Then we opened the house door (shut the "air" off) and waited for her to come into the house. She did...she is using the litterbox. She is using the cat scratch tree. No fleas. No ear mites...has turned into a real cuddle bug. She is still not happy being picked up. But we are working on her. She lets us press out her toenails...we have yet to try nail trimming. Small steps with such big rewards.

She has claimed my sewing chair as hers. She looks so beautiful on it. I swear she matches that quilt on the back.

This is Lucky Lucy under her favorite outside bush...so scared.

And I bought a new toy and all five cats love it. There has been minimal hissing and no cat fights at all. It is as if she was meant to be here. She shows no desire to go outside. I figure she is about 12 weeks old. When we get her a bit calmer we will take her to the vet...oh boy I hope she doesn't hold a grudge.

here is the best cat toy in the world!!!!! Best $20 I ever spent on a toy.

I received this gift package from the famous Pat Sloan. All my favorite colors and Aurifil thread. Thanks Pat Sloan...you rock! Quilters are so generous. And her basket made it safe and sound to Virginia. Read her post here:

Buckeye Beauty Final border & a GIVEAWAY!

I know I said I was going to add another row of squares to the outside....
but Hubby (Whose artistic eye is 20/20)...said it was enough and to just frame them with the cream again.

I cannot wait to quilt this one. I want to try Bonnie Hunter's way of doing Baptist Fans without marking!
And doesn't it look great just thrown across a chair?
On the right you can see my quilt police (Bess).
Really she is a thread sucker. And a thread pooper...what a mess...and she has also eaten two threaded quilting needles and then needed surgery to remove the needles from her tummy and the thread that was wrapped around her tongue. You would think she would learn that this hobby is NOT good for her!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
This is now too big for my design wall. I so want to move the design wall to another part of the room. I could spin it and have the entire length going up and down instead of across. This would involve major moves in this room.
Sounds like a good time to paint too!!!!! Oh James!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Dionne has a great giveaway over on her very colorful blog. She says she heard me on the radio interview with Bonnie Hunter and Pat Sloan. That was such a hoot!! I cannot believe I got through to talk to Our Bonnie.
Anyway here is her blog address. Tell her I sent you!!! http://sewmanyquilts.blogspot.com/
